DESCRIPTION:<br />
World University <strong>Service</strong>s <strong>of</strong> Canada (<strong>WUSC</strong>) is a network <strong>of</strong> individuals and postsecondary<br />
institutions that believe all people are entitled to the knowledge and skills<br />
necessary to contribute to a more equitable world. <strong>WUSC</strong> is a non-governmental<br />
organization with a mission: - to foster human development and global understanding<br />
through education and training. <strong>WUSC</strong> works to increase the capacity <strong>of</strong> local<br />
organizations; government departments as well as individuals in their efforts to contribute<br />
more effectively to the economic and social welfare <strong>of</strong> the population. <strong>WUSC</strong> focuses on<br />
education, health, sustainable livelihoods, gender equality and refugee issues. In Malawi,<br />
<strong>WUSC</strong> is implementing the following programs: Volunteer Program, Bike for AIDS Project<br />
and Student <strong>Refugee</strong> Program (SRP). <strong>WUSC</strong> also administers the Canada Fund for Local<br />
Initiative (CFLI) on behalf <strong>of</strong> the Canada High Commissioner in Malawi.<br />
<strong>WUSC</strong> in collaboration with <strong>Jesuit</strong> <strong>Refugee</strong> <strong>Service</strong>s (<strong>JRS</strong>) is implementing the Student<br />
<strong>Refugee</strong> Programme in Dzaleka <strong>Refugee</strong> Camp with support from UNHCR. The Program<br />
aims at assisting young refugees whose education was interrupted due to war to go on with<br />
University education in Canada. Every year <strong>WUSC</strong> sends 20-25 refugees to Canada .<br />
<strong>WUSC</strong> Malawi therefore seeks to recruit an intern to support in the Student <strong>Refugee</strong><br />
Programme.<br />
RESPONSIBILITIES:<br />
Coordinating the immigration interviews for SRP 2013/2014 intake;<br />
Facilitating the medical check up and Police clearance for SRP 2013/2014 intake;<br />
Conducting Canadian Life course and pre departure orientation for SRP 2013/2014<br />
intake;<br />
Assist in the language training course for SRP for 2013/2014 intake;<br />
Organize a graduation ceremony for SRP 2013/2014 cohort;<br />
Support in producing certificates SRP 2013/2014 cohort;<br />
Update students database;<br />
Ensure the participation and representation <strong>of</strong> women and men in all activities;<br />
Prepare and draft reports required by the host organization and <strong>WUSC</strong>.

Previous experience working with SRP or resettlment efforts in Canada or elsewhere<br />
