The <strong>University</strong><br />
The College integrates undergraduate education in the liberal arts with a residential experience to<br />
challenge and support students in their intellectual, spiritual, personal, and pr<strong>of</strong>essional development.<br />
The academic program <strong>of</strong> the College <strong>of</strong>fers courses in general education, including a required core<br />
and elective courses, and in a disciplinary major <strong>of</strong> the student’s choice. The co-curricular program <strong>of</strong><br />
the College provides students with opportunities for positive community participation, faith formation,<br />
service, and athletic competition. This educational programming produces graduates who:<br />
• are competent in a major;<br />
• have acquired a breadth <strong>of</strong> knowledge and exposure to approaches to understanding the human<br />
condition;<br />
• have developed skills for life-long learning; and<br />
• possess a Lasallian disposition toward leadership and service.<br />
The Schools <strong>of</strong> Graduate and Pr<strong>of</strong>essional Programs (SGPP) provides relevant and rigorous academic<br />
experiences for adult learners through an integration <strong>of</strong> practical, pr<strong>of</strong>essional, and ethical education<br />
<strong>of</strong>fered in dynamic and caring environments. The academic program <strong>of</strong> the Schools <strong>of</strong> Graduate and<br />
Pr<strong>of</strong>essional Programs <strong>of</strong>fers coursework from the undergraduate through the doctoral level. The<br />
SGPP supports the individual learning expectations <strong>of</strong> each student and acknowledges the wealth <strong>of</strong><br />
experience and prior learning that each adult learner brings to the classroom. At the conclusion <strong>of</strong> all<br />
programs <strong>of</strong> study, graduates are expected to be able to:<br />
• demonstrate competence in their pr<strong>of</strong>essional fields;<br />
• communicate effectively in a variety <strong>of</strong> modes;<br />
• work effectively with diverse populations;<br />
• demonstrate critical thinking skills;<br />
• understand the ethical implications <strong>of</strong> their actions; and<br />
• continue learning throughout their lives.<br />
