Property Lost,<br />

Since the 14th .June, while in trausit per s.s. Otway<br />

from Albany to Fremantle.—wood chest, about 3ft.<br />

long, painted white, with brown showing through,<br />

patent spring lock, has small label nailed in centre,<br />

addressed Chas. H. Dunstone, passenger. King<br />

George's Sound. It contains valuable papers, clothes,<br />

lack coat marked " Clark, Adelaide," on holder<br />

behind, a number <strong>of</strong> white and colored shirts, marked<br />

" C. Dunstone," pay sheets, books, &c., belonging to<br />

Mr. Keane. Inquiries to be made at all ports for<br />

this missing chest.<br />

Missing Friends.<br />

Information is requested respecting the present<br />

whereabouts, or, if dead, the date and particulars <strong>of</strong><br />

•death, <strong>of</strong> Franz Pieper, alias William Brown, born<br />

at Pirbston, Germany, in 1851, and who is reported<br />

by Capt. P. Frank, <strong>of</strong> the barque " Pelham," Fremantle,<br />

to have died <strong>of</strong> cholera, on the 14th Januarv,<br />

1881, on board the "Ketch Active," Capt. Smith,<br />

then in Bateman's Bay. Information to Detective<br />

Information is requested respecting William<br />

Millechamp, who is supposed to have been sent to<br />

this Colony as a convict, and who is stated to have<br />

died about 11 or 12 years ago. Information to<br />

Housebreaking.<br />

^ On the night <strong>of</strong> the Slst ult., the Telegraph Office<br />

at Kojonup was entered by breaking two panes <strong>of</strong><br />

glass, and cutting away part <strong>of</strong> window sash <strong>of</strong> back<br />

window. The whole contents <strong>of</strong> the <strong>of</strong>fice were ransacked<br />

but nothing has been missed. Suspicion<br />

attaches to William Johnson, exp., late 4193, alias<br />

Tinker Johnson.<br />

Murder.<br />

On the 16th June, Roger, ab. native, a teamster in<br />

the employ <strong>of</strong> the executors <strong>of</strong> the late Kenneth Mc<br />

Lean, was found murdered at the Pyramid Station <strong>of</strong><br />

fessrs. Richardson & Edgar, Roebourne District.<br />

The deceased was strangled by three natives named<br />

Weeta-Weeta, Ebenezer, and Tulapi. Vide Warrants<br />

Issued and Apprehensions.<br />

On or about the 9th ult., Sugary, ab. native, a<br />

shepherd in the employ <strong>of</strong> J. F. Hancock, was murdered<br />

near Hooley Eiver, Eoebourne District.<br />

' ^The deceased was speared by ab. natives Kyala alias<br />

ly Peter, Cullary alias Bobby, Burracungarey alias<br />

Georgey, Tibbaroo alias Bob Lang, and Ejemimurra<br />

alias Johnny. Vide Apprehensions.<br />

On the night <strong>of</strong> the Srd ult.. Too Ah Moy, a<br />

Chinaman, in the employ <strong>of</strong> W. D. McLeod, <strong>of</strong><br />

Cheritta, was found murdered in his bunk. The<br />

body had a great number <strong>of</strong> wounds, apparently inflicted<br />

with an axe, viz.:—Three cuts on right side<br />

<strong>of</strong> neck, partly severing the head from the body ; cut<br />

8 in. long on right breast, cutting through the' ribs ;<br />

cut about 9 in. long on lower ribs right side, severing<br />

two ribs; cut under right armpit, severing the<br />

smdws; three cuts on back muscle <strong>of</strong> right arm ;<br />

. ^.*hree cuts from right elbow to wrist, right hand<br />

1/nearly cut <strong>of</strong>f; three large cuts on back <strong>of</strong> right<br />

thigh ; cut left shin—nearly all these wounds penetrated<br />

into the bone; cut left hand ; five cuts on top<br />

<strong>of</strong> head, penetrating through the skuU; and several<br />

cuts (some <strong>of</strong> which appeared to have come right<br />

through the body) on shoulders and right side. A<br />

small axe, covered with blood and hair, was found in<br />

the place. The following Chinamen have been arrested<br />

for this murder, viz.:—Ah Kit, Ah Tong,<br />

anchor and J right arm, sailor and mermaid left arm, has a spot<br />

size <strong>of</strong> half a crown on left side <strong>of</strong> head void <strong>of</strong> hair, walks with<br />

a quick short step, turns right foot outward ; supposed to have<br />

gone to South <strong>Australia</strong> with Bernard Stein.<br />

eyes, long visage, fiesh complexion.<br />
