• Volunteer to help with, or contribute to, CASHBAH Painted Treasures (see

• Mother’s Club Mass, Lunch and Meeting Tuesday, September 25 th, starting at 

10:00 am; Card Party craft workshop follows meeting (no special talent required!)

• Donate new children’s summertime clothing (infant through size 6) and new baby

Thanksgiving Basket Service Project 

Each year, the SLUH Community joins with the St. Margaret Outreach Center (formerly 

Immaculate Conception / St. Henry's) to provide Thanksgiving food baskets for needy families. 

Two or three families work together to collect groceries for a traditional Thanksgiving meal. 

Gift certificates to purchase the meat will be provided by SLUH. All donors will receive a list 

of additional staple items which would assist the "adopted" family. Participating families are 

asked to take their purchases to the St. Margaret Outreach Center located at 3139 Lafayette 

Avenue on Sunday, November 18th at 4:00 pm. 

If you are interested in this Thanksgiving service project, please complete the attached 

form and return it to SLUH in the enclosed envelope. You will receive by mail the 

names of your "adopted" family members and contact information for the other SLUH 

donors that will be working with you.

Parent Needs to Know”

Director of the Missouri Internet Crimes Against Children 

Task Force 

Please join us for an informative session on the internet and keeping our teenage 

children safe while using it. Lt. Laramie works with law enforcement officers 

throughout the United States to protect children from online criminal activity. He 

will discuss the current social networking websites like MySpace and FaceBook. 

Lt. Laramie regularly speaks in the St. Louis area to parents, teens, and grade 

school children about the appropriate use of the internet. His presentation will 

specifically address the concerns of parents about internet safety.

Painted Treasures Needs You!! 

We are a group of SLUH moms that sand, prime, 

and paint donated furniture and accessories for 

Sneak Peek and Cashbah. No experience necessary, 

we have work for all skill levels!!! 

We meet on Tuesday mornings, 9 a.m. beginning Sept.18 in 

the Painted Treasures room (next to the weight room. 

We are also in need of gently used or new furniture 

to paint (tables, shelves, chairs, trays, etc.) 

Please come and join us!! 

This is a great way to help a great 

community and make new friends!

SLUH Moms have sponsored the Annual Fall Card Party. 

SLUHfest Card Party will be held on Sunday, October 14 at: 


4970 Oakland Avenue 


The Gymnasium doors will open at 11:00 am for lunch and shopping. 

Browse the Booths for 

Baked Goods, Gift Baskets, Billiken items, Crafts, Mums, 

Popsicle Game, Pot O’ Gold, and White Elephant items. 

Preview the Billiken Quilt, Raffle and Attendance prizes. 

The Card Party will begin at 1:00 pm 

The Raffle will close at 2:45 pm 

Cards will be provided, but feel free to bring your favorite games… 

Bunko, Cribbage, Monopoly, Mancala, Scrabble, etc. 

We hope to see you there!

CRAFTS 

The first craft workshop will follow The Mass of the Holy Spirit, September 7. 

The next is planned for September 25th following a Mothers' Club Mass. 

Completed craft items: note cards, seasonal/holiday, jewelry, SLUH logo, etc. 

TABLE FAVORS 

Every Card Party attendee will receive a favor bag (600-800 bags). 

We need small items for this: 25, 50, 100, or more... of any like items 

such as health and beauty samples, discount coupons, 

pens, pencils, notepads, company logo giveaways, wrapped candy, etc. 

WHITE ELEPHANT 

Any yard sale type items such as toys, books, knick-knacks, kitchen, household, etc. 

No clothing, please! 

The success of the Mothers’ Club Card Party depends upon all the wonderful volunteers and donations.

staffing the craft booth and clean up.

Attend one of our workshops and complete a craft 

while enjoying the company of other “crafty” moms. 

Release that creative energy and show off your passion by

SLUH has a reputation for great baked goods to enjoy at the Card Party 

and to take home! Each family is asked to keep up the tradition by 

contributing one of the following, or your favorite treat: 

Breads, muffins, cupcakes, brownies, cookies, cakes, pies, 

homemade jellies, jams, preserves, fudge, trail mix, nuts, poppycock, 

puppy chow, kettle corn, or candy. Cakes and pies are particularly popular.

After three years of hard work with gorgeous results, Ruth Hanson is 

producing her last quilt for the Card Party. Next year’s Card Party will need 

a new quilter.
