10. Class Exemptions
Exemption from participating in physical education classes must be obtained
from the student’s physical education teacher. A note from the student’s parent
or doctor stating the reason for the exemption request should be brought to the
teacher at the beginning of the student’s P.E. class period. A copy or second
note should be given to the school nurse.
11. Policy on Co-curricular Participation When Absent or Tardy
A student may not participate in or attend any co-curricular activity on the day
when he does not attend classes. This non-participation policy includes
practices, rehearsals, and dances.
A student must be present for five or more class periods of the day to be
eligible to participate in or attend a co-curricular activity. However, if a student
leaves school early during sixth or seventh periods, he is not allowed to
participate in or attend a co-curricular activity.
The Asst. Principal for Student Life may make exceptions to this rule, but such
exceptions will be made rarely and only when an extraordinary reason has
caused a student’s absence from class. 6 successive days of jug after school
will be the consequences for violation.
1. Emergency Cards
Up-to-date emergency cards should be on file in the Asst. Principal for Student
Student Life when there are any changes in home address, home phone
number, place of employment, business phone or person to contact when a
parent cannot be reached.
If parents will be out of town, the Asst. Principal for Student Life
should be informed, through a written note, of the name and the phone number
of the person responsible for the student and where the parents can be reached
in case of emergency.
2. Health Records
All Freshmen and transfer students are required to have a physical on file in the
nurse's office before their assigned Direction Day or the first day of Fall sport’s
practice, which ever comes first. The physical must be administered after April
1st of the current school year.
Sophomores, Juniors and Seniors are required to have a physical on file in the
athletic director’s office only if they plan on participating in an athletic
cocurricular. This physical must be on file before participating in the first
practice and must be administered after April 1st of the current school year.
A student’s vaccination and immunization record must be updated by
the beginning of school each year according to state health guidelines. Students
