c. Conduct on or off campus that would compromise the reputation of<br />
the school, such as fighting, v<strong>and</strong>alizing, etc.<br />
d. Having or using fireworks on campus.<br />
e. Receiving 30 demerits during the academic year.<br />
f. A second violation for skipping class or school.<br />
g. Having, or being under the influence of alcohol or any other illegal<br />
drug, paraphernalia at or before school or any event.<br />
h. Gambling is not allowed. This includes during playing pool, foosball,<br />
shuffleboard etc. regardless if money is present.<br />
i. Violation of the Academic Honesty Policy.<br />
j. Violation of the Technology Code of Conduct.<br />
k. Violation of the Harassment Policy.<br />
If a student’s behavior requires a second parental conference with the Assistant<br />
Principal during the school year, suspension <strong>and</strong> probation will be<br />
AUTOMATIC.<br />
3. Expulsion<br />
The Principal has sole authority to expel a student. The Assistant Principals<br />
will recommend <strong>and</strong> advise in cases involving expulsion. Behavior which<br />
shall constitute good cause for expulsion include, but is not limited to, the<br />
following:<br />
a. <strong>St</strong>ealing.<br />
b. Threats <strong>and</strong> harassment (sexual, etc.) toward staff members or<br />
students.<br />
c. Excessive v<strong>and</strong>alism on school premises or at school functions.<br />
d. Unauthorized possession of a school key.<br />
e. Transaction/sale/purchase of alcohol or any other illegal drug at<br />
school or at any event.<br />
f. A second suspension in one academic year.<br />
g. Violation of suspension or probation.<br />
h. Possession of a weapon.<br />
4. <strong>Parent</strong>al Conferences<br />
Any disciplinary issue may constitute good cause for a parental conference<br />
with the Asst. Principal for <strong><strong>St</strong>udent</strong> Life.<br />
5. Right to Appeal<br />
If a conflict arises between a student <strong>and</strong> /or parent <strong>and</strong> faculty member, the<br />
student/parent has the right to appeal to the Asst. Principal for Academics <strong>and</strong><br />
to the Asst. Principal for <strong><strong>St</strong>udent</strong> Life in disciplinary matters. The usual<br />
channels of appeal must be followed. These channels are:<br />
a. <strong><strong>St</strong>udent</strong>/parent must consult with the faculty member.<br />
b. After consultation with the faculty member, the student/parent may<br />
confer with one of the Assistant Principals.<br />
