The Kermode also know as the Spirit<br />
Bear is a black bear that has white fur<br />
due to a rare genetic trait. The spirit bear<br />
is NOT albino. It has brown eyes and a<br />
brown nose usually. A spirit bear weighs<br />
about half a pound when it's born and<br />
about 150- 300 pounds when they are<br />
fully grown.
Kermode bear Facts<br />
-They can run up to 55 km per hour<br />
-They can live up to about 25 years in the wild<br />
-They aren't polar bears<br />
-There also known as "Spirit Bears" or "Ghost Bears"<br />
-They have 5 claws<br />
-born at a 1/2 a pound<br />
-Can weigh up to 300 pounds when fully grown
What the Kermode Bear eats<br />
Spirit bears are omnivores. Theyeat<br />
berries, nuts, fruits, grasses,other plants,<br />
insects, deer, moose fawns, and carrion.<br />

animals. And salmon when in season. Also<br />
many other animals and plants
Where can you find a Kermode Bear<br />
You can find Spirit Bears in Central<br />
Coast and North Coast of British<br />
Columbia. You can find a lot of Spirit<br />
bears on Princess Royal Island were one<br />
tenth of black bears are born white. In<br />
British Cloumbia it is illegal to hunt<br />
Spirit Bears.
How the Kermode got their name<br />
The Kermode Bear is named after<br />
Francis Kermode. Francis Kermode<br />
discovered the Kermode bear. The<br />
bear is also known as "spirit bear" or<br />
"Ghost Bear"

A justice circle is, when people volunteer to<br />
help sentence offenders lead better lives.<br />
Several Native American tribes, including the<br />
Tlingit, use this form of justice for the<br />
wrongdoers. They allow others to join the<br />
circle too.
Why do they use this form of<br />
justice?<br />
● The Tlingit Indians and Native Americans<br />
use this to help criminals live better lives.
