FACULTY<br />
<strong>Evidence</strong>-<strong>based</strong> practice is a healthcare practice<br />
approach <strong>in</strong> which patient management is driven by<br />
cl<strong>in</strong>ical expertise, patient preference, and best possible<br />
scientific evidence. This workshop covers the pr<strong>in</strong>ciples<br />
of evidence-<strong>based</strong> practice and it specifically caters to<br />
cl<strong>in</strong>icians who wish to improve their cl<strong>in</strong>ical practice<br />
through enhanced skills <strong>in</strong> sourc<strong>in</strong>g, <strong>in</strong>terpret<strong>in</strong>g, and<br />
apply<strong>in</strong>g the scientific literature.<br />

Dawn Tan<br />
Pr<strong>in</strong>cipal Physiotherapist, Department of <strong>Physiotherapy</strong>, SGH<br />
Dawn completed her Masters <strong>in</strong> Neurological <strong>Physiotherapy</strong><br />
and Doctor of Cl<strong>in</strong>ical <strong>Physiotherapy</strong> with the University of<br />
Melbourne. She is currently work<strong>in</strong>g <strong>in</strong> S<strong>in</strong>gapore <strong>General</strong><br />
Hospital and has been <strong>in</strong>volved <strong>in</strong> the rehabilitation of<br />
patients with neurological conditions for more than ten years.<br />
Dawn’s areas of <strong>in</strong>terests <strong>in</strong>clude stroke rehabilitation and<br />
Park<strong>in</strong>son’s disease management. She has participated and<br />
presented <strong>in</strong> various local scientific conferences.<br />
Ong Hwee Kuan<br />
Pr<strong>in</strong>cipal Physiotherapist, Department of <strong>Physiotherapy</strong>, SGH<br />
Hwee Kuan has been work<strong>in</strong>g as a Physiotherapist <strong>in</strong><br />
cardiopulmonary sections s<strong>in</strong>ce 1999. She has a keen <strong>in</strong>terest<br />
<strong>in</strong> promot<strong>in</strong>g the skills that enable efficient acquir<strong>in</strong>g,<br />
analyz<strong>in</strong>g and apply<strong>in</strong>g scientific literature <strong>in</strong> <strong>Physiotherapy</strong><br />
cl<strong>in</strong>ical practice. She completed Cl<strong>in</strong>ical Doctorate tra<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g <strong>in</strong><br />
<strong>Physiotherapy</strong> from the University of Melbourne, Australia <strong>in</strong><br />
2009. Her thesis exam<strong>in</strong>ed the effects of pulmonary<br />
rehabilitation <strong>in</strong> patients with bronchiectasis.<br />
Pua Yong Hao<br />
Pr<strong>in</strong>cipal Physiotherapist, Department of <strong>Physiotherapy</strong>, SGH<br />
Yong Hao is a Pr<strong>in</strong>cipal Physiotherapist at the S<strong>in</strong>gapore<br />
<strong>General</strong> Hospital. He graduated from the University of<br />
Melbourne with a PhD (<strong>Physiotherapy</strong>) <strong>in</strong> 2009 and his<br />
doctoral work <strong>in</strong>vestigates the physical correlates of physical<br />
function <strong>in</strong> persons with symptomatic hip osteoarthritis.<br />
June Quek<br />
Pr<strong>in</strong>cipal Physiotherapist, Department of <strong>Physiotherapy</strong>, SGH<br />
June is a Pr<strong>in</strong>cipal Physiotherapist with the S<strong>in</strong>gapore <strong>General</strong><br />
Hospital where she actively mentors and coaches fellow<br />
physiotherapists, along with her cl<strong>in</strong>ical load and other<br />
research projects. She graduated from the University of<br />
Queensland with a Masters <strong>in</strong> Manipulative <strong>Physiotherapy</strong> <strong>in</strong><br />
2005.
