Health <strong>in</strong>surance and low <strong>in</strong>come<br />
You will be exempt from health <strong>in</strong>surance payment if your <strong>in</strong>come does not exceed<br />
260 € after tax per month. You may apply for exemption from payment by<br />
submitt<strong>in</strong>g an Application for <strong>the</strong> Benefits from Public Funds (<strong>in</strong> Slovenian: Vloga<br />
za uveljavljanje pravic iz javnih sredstev), where you should <strong>in</strong>dicate that you are<br />
exercis<strong>in</strong>g your right to payment <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> health security contribution. You can f<strong>in</strong>d<br />

Fur<strong>the</strong>rmore, <strong>the</strong> right to free-<strong>of</strong>-charge legal aid can also be exercised by a person<br />
whose average monthly <strong>in</strong>come per member <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> family does not exceed a two times<br />
<strong>the</strong> multiplier <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> m<strong>in</strong>imal <strong>in</strong>come <strong>in</strong> Slovenia.<br />
If you are stay<strong>in</strong>g <strong>in</strong> Maribor without a <strong>residence</strong> permit and have encountered<br />
a legal problem, contact one <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> non-governmental organisations <strong>in</strong><br />

The right to free legal aid<br />
If you do have permanent or temporary <strong>residence</strong> registered <strong>in</strong> Maribor, you may seek<br />
free legal aid yourself at <strong>the</strong> PIP Institute.<br />
You are entitled to receive free-<strong>of</strong>-charge legal advice and free-<strong>of</strong>-charge legal aid,<br />
if you have a permanent or temporary <strong>residence</strong> permit <strong>in</strong> Slovenia and are unable<br />
to solve your problem without <strong>in</strong>curr<strong>in</strong>g f<strong>in</strong>ancial damage to yourself and your family.
