Your application will be understood as <strong>in</strong>complete if not submitted <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> <strong>of</strong>ficial,<br />

i.e. Slovenian language. If your knowledge <strong>of</strong> Slovenian is not perfect,<br />

you might consider submitt<strong>in</strong>g applications orally on <strong>the</strong> record. An adm<strong>in</strong>istrative<br />

<strong>of</strong>ficer is bound by duty to file an application on your behalf <strong>in</strong> this<br />

manner. Remember to br<strong>in</strong>g along someone you trust to translate for you.<br />

3.3 OVERCOMING LANGUAGE BARRIERS IN<br />

OFFICIAL PROCEDURES<br />

All <strong>of</strong>ficial procedures normally take place <strong>in</strong> Slovenian, <strong>the</strong> <strong>of</strong>ficial language <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong><br />

Republic <strong>of</strong> Slovenia. This is why you are expected to present all <strong>of</strong>ficial documents<br />

for <strong>the</strong> requirements <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> adm<strong>in</strong>istrative procedure <strong>in</strong> Slovenian.<br />

If you submit an <strong>in</strong>complete application, an adm<strong>in</strong>istrative <strong>of</strong>ficer will summon you<br />

with<strong>in</strong> five workdays to regularise it (for example, by hav<strong>in</strong>g it translated <strong>in</strong>to Slovenian)<br />

and will <strong>the</strong>reby also set a new submission date. The timely regularisation <strong>of</strong> your<br />

application means that is has been regularised and submitted <strong>in</strong> accordance with<br />

<strong>the</strong> due date. Should this not be <strong>the</strong> case, an adm<strong>in</strong>istrative <strong>of</strong>ficer may dismiss <strong>the</strong><br />

application without fur<strong>the</strong>r proceed<strong>in</strong>gs.
