a. At <strong>the</strong> police station you will be asked to present your reasons for seek<strong>in</strong>g <strong>in</strong>ternational<br />
protection, to disclose your personal <strong>in</strong>formation and to describe<br />
<strong>the</strong> journey that has led you to Slovenia.<br />
b. You have <strong>the</strong> right to an <strong>in</strong>terpreter free <strong>of</strong> charge dur<strong>in</strong>g <strong>the</strong> police procedure<br />
and should be provided with one, if necessary.<br />
c. Accord<strong>in</strong>g to some asylum seekers who have already gone through <strong>the</strong> procedure,<br />
<strong>the</strong> <strong>in</strong>spectors are known to be extremely thorough <strong>in</strong> check<strong>in</strong>g whe<strong>the</strong>r<br />
<strong>the</strong> asylum seekers’ statements are true.<br />
d. Once <strong>the</strong> police procedure is over, you will be placed <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> Asylum Centre <strong>in</strong><br />
Ljubljana for as long as your application for <strong>in</strong>ternational protection is be<strong>in</strong>g<br />
processed.<br />
When tak<strong>in</strong>g your f<strong>in</strong>gerpr<strong>in</strong>ts, <strong>the</strong> competent authorities might establish<br />
that you were already registered as an asylum seeker <strong>in</strong> ano<strong>the</strong>r European<br />
country beforehand, which means that <strong>the</strong>y will send you back to that<br />
country and make sure that your asylum seek<strong>in</strong>g procedure comes to an<br />
end <strong>the</strong>re. This rule, however, does not apply for Greece, <strong>the</strong> <strong>of</strong>ficial position<br />
<strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Republic <strong>of</strong> Slovenia be<strong>in</strong>g that <strong>the</strong> circumstances for <strong>in</strong>ternational<br />
protection seekers are not adequate <strong>the</strong>re.<br />
e. You have <strong>the</strong> right to reside <strong>in</strong> Slovenia as an asylum seeker from <strong>the</strong> day<br />
you lodge an application for <strong>in</strong>ternational protection until you receive a f<strong>in</strong>al<br />
decision with regard to your application.<br />
f. The Asylum Centre will regularly provide you with food (three meals per day);<br />
you will also be given clo<strong>the</strong>s, shoes and a basic hygiene kit. You are entitled<br />
to receive basic medical treatment as an asylum seeker (which is, however,<br />
ra<strong>the</strong>r limited <strong>in</strong> range) and <strong>the</strong> right to attend organised forms <strong>of</strong> education.
