While I was in Texas this last spring, I saw Copper Penny and I was utterly impressed. I thought he was the best bovine I saw during my entire trip. Lot 21 Sire: Get Smoked Dam: Char X DOB: 2005 • Due: 3-23 to Copper Penny • Tag 538 Lot 22 Get Smoked was a Full Flush x G1 son. 538 is a moderate framed, deep flanked, consistent producer, no matter what she has been mated to. She raised the Reserve Champion Junior National Char Steer for Chance Bauman. Sire: Get Smoked Dam: Char X DOB: 2005 • Due: 4-4 to Copper Penny • Tag R85 This heavy muscled smoky female raised a $4000 cherry red market heifer that sold to Rod Suhr 2 years ago. I really like what that coon footed, moderate framed Copper Penny could do on this female. There has probably been a lot of coon footed people at the Copper Penny in Stillwater though. 12
TBSC Happy Days 038X Lot 23 This is one yak haired Heat Seeker female. Sexy and good lookin. It’s amazing how these kind of females seem to show up when the lawn mowers start clipping. This is without a doubt the best haired female in the sale. This female could create tax problems when she calves. If they don’t have hair, you may as well use them for a recip. Lot 24 Sire: Heat Seeker Dam: Platinum DOB: 2005 • Due: 6-1 to Freeze Frame • Tag R15 You will want to hide your notes after you see this one. She will be a buy at whatever the cost. She is bred to the double clean Alias son owned by Randy Walhdrip at Amarillo, Texas. If you like them long necked and big bodied in a sound complete package you will love this one. She may be the buy of the sale. Lot 25 Sire: Heat Seeker Dam: Purebred Maine DOB: 2003 • Due: 4-20 to Copper Penny • Tag 31 This is one beached whale. The stoutest Heat Seeker daughter in captivity. She is tested TH and PHA negative. We flushed this female with much success. One of the top fall prospects this year is from 31. This female has great value being clean for all the breeders that have backed themselves into the closet using dirty bulls. I personally don’t think that a genetically dirty sire should be allowed to sell semen on the open market. But who am I; just a hillbilly from South Dakota. I bought some of the last Total Solution Semen to raise females. Thanks Moe. This one will be cheap if she has a heifer.
