Shock<br />

Shock occurs when perfusion of oxygenated blood to the tissues is inadequate to support vital<br />

organ function. Categories of shock are hypovolemic, cardiogenic, neurogenic and distributive.<br />

Hypovolemic shock is inadequate organ perfusion that results from decreased circulatory<br />

volume, which can result from dehydration or blood loss.<br />
