Neck motion<br />

Normal range of motion is between 90 and 165 degrees. Restricted range of motion may indicate<br />

that direct laryngoscopy will be difficult. Adequate neck mobility is required to achieve<br />

the desired “sniffing position” that facilitates visualization of the larynx on direct laryngoscopy.<br />
