Larynx<br />

<strong>The</strong> larynx is that part of the airway that connects the pharynx and hypopharynx to the trachea.<br />

It serves several functions: breathing, airway protection and phonation. <strong>The</strong> vocal<br />

cords are just part of the laryngeal structure.<br />

<strong>The</strong> larynx is located from the 3rd to 6th cervical vertebrae in adults.<br />
