the deliberation caused significant changes in
the way the weekend participants think about
the deregulation of labor market. Before the
deliberation, twice as many people said that
the government should have let employers hire
and fire as they see fit than afterwards. After
the deliberation, the percentage of those
who thought that government should make it
very difficult for employers to fire increased by
10 percent. The author believes this change
occured because people often talked about the
importance of keeping their jobs during the
deliberation.
Table 33 shows which social-demographic
variables have significant effects on choosing
one of the statements in the logistic regression
model.
