(2) The number <strong>of</strong> required commercial parking spaces shall be derived from<br />

the sum <strong>of</strong> uses on the subject property as outlined on Table #1. A<br />

fractional portion <strong>of</strong> a parking space shall require one additional parking<br />

space. Where a specific use is not identified, a similar use on Table #1<br />

shall be selected and applied.<br />

(3) Where units <strong>of</strong> measurement on Table #2 include seating capacity and<br />

such capacity consists <strong>of</strong> benches, each 0.5 m <strong>of</strong> such seating shall be<br />

counted as one seat.<br />

(4) Parking spaces for residential uses associated with a commercial use shall<br />

use the standards outlined on Table #1 <strong>of</strong> Section 803(1) <strong>of</strong> this bylaw.<br />

(5) A minimum <strong>of</strong> two-thirds <strong>of</strong> all parking spaces for a commercial use shall<br />

be provided in an indoor parking garage.<br />

(6) Outdoor commercial parking areas shall have a dust-free surface such as<br />

pavement or asphalt except a maximum <strong>of</strong> 10% <strong>of</strong> this area may be left<br />

graveled.<br />

(7) All commercial parking areas shall be provided on the parcel where the<br />

subject building or use is situated; and<br />

notwithstanding this requirement, up to 50% <strong>of</strong> an outdoor parking area<br />

may be located on another parcel where this bylaw has applicability where<br />

an Easement or Right-<strong>of</strong>-Way has been registered to favour the parking<br />

use and a legal instrument such as a Covenant is provided to the <strong>Regional</strong><br />

<strong>District</strong> to prevent the discharge <strong>of</strong> this agreement.<br />

Village Commercial Snow Storage<br />

(8) Village Commercial zoned properties shall be exempted from parking<br />

requirements under (c) Food Services, (d) Drinking Place Uses, and<br />

(e) Retail Trade Uses, <strong>of</strong> Table #2, under Section 804, Part (1), except<br />

that each legal title shall provide a minimum <strong>of</strong> 5 parking spaces<br />

dedicated and signed for non-accommodation use. (<strong>Bylaw</strong> 2290/07)<br />

(9) The provision <strong>of</strong> snow storage areas for snow removed from an outdoor<br />

parking area in the Village Commercial zone shall be determined when<br />

considering a Development Permit.<br />
