DIVISION SIX – SPECIAL USE ZONES<br />

603. COMMUNITY RECREATION (R)<br />
(1) Subject to the provisions <strong>of</strong> Division Three <strong>of</strong> this bylaw, and in<br />
consideration <strong>of</strong> land use policies in the “<strong>Silver</strong> <strong>Star</strong> Official Community<br />
Plan”; the following uses and no others shall be permitted in the<br />
.Community Recreation zone:<br />
(a)<br />
(b)<br />
(c)<br />
(d)<br />
(e)<br />
(f)<br />
One Training Centre with spa and meeting facilities.<br />
One Community Ski Club House.<br />
Summer Recreation Facilities such as tennis courts, basketball<br />
courts, playground facilities and picnic areas.<br />
Accessory buildings for outdoor skating where such buildings<br />
have no accommodation, retail or service activities other than<br />
directly ancillary to skating activities.<br />
Environmental management activities including activities<br />
necessary for the management <strong>of</strong> the wildfire interface and<br />
walking trails maintenance.<br />
Passive recreational activities such as walking, skiing, skating and<br />
fishing.<br />
(2) Notwithstanding Section 303 <strong>of</strong> this bylaw, buildings and structures in the<br />
Community Recreation zone may utilize an alternate means to provide<br />
sewer and water service, as appropriate.<br />
(3) Parcels that are proposed to be subdivided within this zone shall have a<br />
minimum parcel area <strong>of</strong> not less than 50.0 m².<br />
604. HERITAGE CONSERVATION (H)<br />
(1) Subject to the provisions <strong>of</strong> Division Three <strong>of</strong> this bylaw, the Heritage<br />
Conservation zone shall only permit a heritage conservation use.<br />
(2) The extent <strong>of</strong> the Heritage Conservation zone outlined on map Schedule A<br />
shall be 5.0 m extending from the foundation <strong>of</strong> the forestry lookout<br />
building.<br />
(3) Parcels that are proposed to be subdivided in this zone shall be contiguous<br />
with the extent <strong>of</strong> the zone outlined above in Section 604(2) <strong>of</strong> this bylaw.<br />
