With this high-concept, director Emilie Guillot sets out to skewer the pretentiousness of the European art
world. It's just a typical, ordinary day at a French art museum, but the cast of characters on display here finds
the terrain anything but easy to navigate; they include a mother who literally becomes an art exhibit when her
body is coated in plastic and put on display, a minister shocked to his core by artistic displays of sexual
organs, a curator suffering from acute botanophobia, and many other idiosyncratic misfits.
HK Theatre Association Limited
HK Theatre Association is a French International organization that aspires to enrich art and cultural
development in Hong Kong. Founded in 2007, by Emilie Guillot, HK Theatre Association aims to train and
encourage emerging artists to nurture their creativity. HKTA offers acting workshops mainly in French but
also in English. Professional working artists with recognized speech and drama qualifications lead our acting
workshops. Those classes are meant for all, adults, teenagers and young kids, mainly in French but also in
English. It provides live performances, and stage productions all year long. HKTA goal is to provide aspiring
artists and performers with cross-cultural experiences.
Artistic director resume:
Emilie Guillot, born in Brittany, France, is known not only as an actress/performer but also as a drama
director and producer of a quite wide number of live performances. Her debut was as a ballet dancer. Then she
quickly graduated from ‘L’Ecole de Théâtre Bellevue’ with a degree of ‘Technical corporal and improvisation
diploma’. She spent years practicing on stage and in front of the camera, with well-known acting coaches,
directors, producers such as Christian Lucciani, Sylvie Boutley, Frédérique Farina, Georges Bécot, Jean-René
Lemoine, Daniel Cling, Steven Soderbergh, Stanley J. Orzel.
Finally she graduated with a National Diploma in Performing Arts and in Drama Directing, from the
renowned French Drama School ‘Le Cours Florent’, where she got out full of contentment and confidence.
July 2003, she landed in Hong Kong and started a drama production company (Mon Café-Theatre Ltd) with
which she has developped the concept of café-theatre in HK. Emilie has also been seen has a performer and
actress in ‘Isabeau’, ‘The Killing of Sister Georges’, ‘Sandman’, ‘Take Five’, ‘Identity Crisis’, ‘The Sneeze’,
‘Lumina –webseries’, ‘Push’ feature film, ‘A little conversation – independent film’, ‘Boxed in’ with best
film, best acting, best directing awards, and ‘Far away Eyes’ - feature film.
In addition to this, she has been certified Cinema Director and Line Producer from Hollywood Film Institute
and HK International Film School. She is now the Artistic Director of ‘HK Theatre Association Ltd’ with
which she coaches acting to adults and young kids.
