Round the Island<br />

Warm up<br />

Race on 18 th<br />

March. The<br />

race took place from the CAR Sailing Centre<br />

at Los Narejos on the Mar Menor. There were<br />

12 boats taking part with wind speeds from<br />

5 to 9 knot. The race started at 12.00 and<br />

was divided into two classes: the cruiser class<br />

and the dingy class. The start was from the<br />

CAR Jetty to the 2 nd buoy round to the port<br />

side and then on to the island going round<br />

anticlockwise and back to the buoy at the CAR<br />

and was run under the RYA Portsmouth Yardstick<br />

handicap system.<br />

First Race of the SAMM Spring Season Sunday<br />

1 ST April 2012<br />

At the First Race of the Spring Series,<br />

SAMM was pleased to welcome a competitor<br />

from Guardamar, Mike Waterfield and his crew<br />

Raymond Leese in their Dufour 24, which is<br />

7.35metres long and over 30 years old.<br />

There were 10 boats taking part with wind<br />

speeds from 5 to 12 knots from the south<br />

west bearing round to south at the end of the<br />

2 nd race. The first race started at 11.45hrs<br />

and the results on corrected times were:-<br />
