THE 7 BAN-
DITS
A couple of
months ago,
the RAD Animal
Association
took
in a pregnant
dog who was
found with a
broken chain
fastened very
tightly around her neck. She was probably
abandoned due to her condition. We think
she was possibly a working sheep dog. Since
we took her in, LUNA has been in good
hands. She has had proper food and medical
care to
ensure her
babies would
be born
healthy, happy
and well
adjusted so
they have the
best chance
possible to
be adopted.
LUNA has
now had 7
puppies (5
males and
2 females).
All of them
are healthy and beautiful, tan coloured with
masked faces (hence the nick name the 7
Bandits). The type of breed is uncertain,
since it is unknown who she mated with, but
as they develop we will know more of their
characteristics. Although just a few weeks
old, they have a good and gentle temperament,
are used to human contact as well as
other dogs and cats. All the puppies will be
available for adoption in 4-6 weeks time.
Please someone out there adopt these adorable
little ‘bandits’. Contact us for more photos,
a viewing and to reserve your puppy. We
will ensure they will have all their jabs and
passports and will be ready to take home.
CHARLIE’S
STORY:
Everyone
likes a happy
ending. Charlie
was rescued
at only
1 or 2 days
old. He was
heartlessly
thrown away
in a trash can
in a plastic
garbage bag
with his other
brothers and
sisters, none
of whom
survived.
We fostered
him for 12
days until his
eyes opened,
feeding him
every two
hours and giving him all the attention he
needed to survive. When he opened his eyes,
we found him a ‘cat mother’ who adopted
him into her litter of 4 kittens. LULU the
mama cat was amazing. She immediately
took to him without incident. She cleaned
him and nursed him and cared for him like
he was her own. He deserved to know that
not all people are bad and he got his wish.
He has now been adopted into his ‘forever
home’. We would like to say a special thank
you to Anne, for not only adopting him, but
for her tireless effort and commitment to
helping abandoned and abused animals.
If anyone out there has left over building
materials (wood pieces, fencing, concrete
blocks, bricks, old sheds, etc.) to donate to
the RAD Animal Association, it would be
greatly appreciated. Materials will be used to
build and improve the cat house and expand
the dog areas. Please contact us if you can
help.
