Our gardening volunteers took a day off
recently. Easter Monday is primarily an
English holiday, but that was the day chosen
for our English volunteers to have their own
little fiesta. The hard working gardeners
shared an afternoon in the park, with BBQ,
snacks and drinks, and of course, a little
chocolate, taking the opportunity to enjoy
the fruits of their labour in the very pleasant
leisure area that they have worked so hard
to create. Entertainment was provided by
Antonio and Vanessa, a Spanish Flamenco
Duo, who all seemed to enjoy it. We were
joined by a few holiday visitors, two of
whom gave up a couple of hours of their
holiday to join in the fun and help with some
weed clearing. I am sure that they felt much
better for it! Remember, everyone is invited
to help, as and when they can. It is not
necessary to make a regular commitment;
just a little effort can make a big difference.
Roses
All of the Queen Elizabeth roses which we
bought to commemorate the Jubilee year
have now been planted, although at time
of writing, much work is still ongoing in
spreading the awaiting gravel to complete
these new presentations. We have also
managed to plant many bedding plants,
kindly donated to us via GO maD, courtesy
of the generosity of Lidl Supermarket. Our
thanks to them for their kind support.
Books
The Friday morning Book Stall has just got
bigger. The Thursday Book Club which
has been hosted by Tony and Ann in Calle
Alicante has now closed, and they have
very generously handed all of their books
to our group. I can safely boast that we
now have the largest selection of second
hand English books in the area. The Book
Club, run by Pauline, is our regular source
of income, helping to support all of the good
work carried out by all of our volunteers to
help improve Sector A. Things can only get
better!

Coach Trip to Valor Chocolate Factory
26 th March saw 90 people embark on our
first ever coach trip, and what a day it
turned out to be. Despite the early start
the sun shone brightly as we made our way
to the Valor chocolate factory at Villajoyosa
to see how it’s made and of course to taste
the end product. Lunch at Busot involved
consuming the excellent fish and chips
lunch washed down by an acceptable house
wine. The next stop was the show caves
at Busot where there was much to admire
inside the caves as well as the panoramic
view outside.

Our intrepid travellers then moved the
short distance to Viella and the Turron factory
where those that could still walk were
able to consume the samples of this particularly
sweet confection. The quiz on the
buses managed to keep almost everybody
awake until our return to Camposol. Our
thanks go to Roger and Colin for keeping
their passengers in order and not losing
anyone.
Our next event will be our last fundraiser
before the Fiesta.
The Spring Ball at the new marina in
Puerto De Mazarrón on Friday 26 th May at
7.30pm. The CAS Band and Costa Cálida
Int Radio, a fantastic buffet by the Roving
Diner and a 1€ bar complete the evening
@ 22€, including coach travel from
Camposol. Dress to impress!

Fiestas Camposol Car Draw 2012
The Fiestas Camposol Car Draw is once
again well under way and you will be able
to buy a ticket from one of the following
venues;
Outside Consum, Sector B Mon-Wed, Fri &
Sat
Thurs market on Sector A
This will be the 5 th time we have held this
competition and it has always proved popular
with the last two winners living on Camposol.
Citroën will supply a new car at a
competitive price and we hope to be able to
sell at least enough tickets to cover the cost
of the car. The draw will take place on the
main stage of the fiesta at approx 9.45pm
on the Sunday night and some lucky person
will then be the proud owner of a brand
new car. Closer to the fiesta we will have
the car available for you to admire and
buy another ticket on Saturday mornings
on Sector B Commercial Centre. Proceeds
from the car draw will be split between next
year’s fiesta and certain local charities at
the discretion of the committee.
Camposol Fiesta
At last the fiesta is taking shape and much
of the basic work is now complete. We
have a full and entertaining programme
with something we hope for everybody. We
would like to thank our new sponsors IBEX
Insurance and DECKLID Auto Services
for their generosity and support for the fiesta
which is invaluable and also TREVI
Bar who have been so supportive all year.
Although the format will be familiar to
many of you, you will have to wait until
June for the publication of the full programme.
Our main act on Sunday night will
be a band called CHESS. If you like Queen
you will love Chess and they along with our
spectacular fireworks display will bring the
fiesta to a rousing finale. Saturday night
will also not disappoint with a new band
called EXEDOS. Susie is doing a great job
in providing a super mix of craft and commercial
stalls along with the usual charity
and games pitches. We have two catering
pitches offering fresh sausages and burgers
and a pig roast, along with the bars.
There will be the traditional giant paella on
the Saturday afternoon along with Spanish
troubadors and the bars and catering
pitches will be open from midday on both
days of the fiesta.
There is a suggestion that this year for the
first time the fiesta will be live on the World
Wide Web and the whole world will see just
what a great place Camposol is to live in.
The committee has worked really hard this
year to ensure that we have produced a
weekend for you all to enjoy. It’s a family
event so please come in the spirit of fiesta
and have a great time. Fancy dress is not
essential, but hey it is fiesta!
