Cabaret Update
The fundraising Cabaret Night on 8 th
November at the Hotel Playa Grande,
Puerto de Mazarron was a very successful
event with over 160 people having a great
time dancing to the sounds of the fabulous
duo The Beagles, and the supporting
act Clifford Jay & Julia. This event was
organised to raise much needed funds
for the Palm House Orphanage in
Cambodia.
We are thankful for the continued support
of many generous friends and local
businesses who donated prizes for the
raffle and auction. We would also like
to thank all those that attended on the
evening. An amazing 1,700€ was raised
for the Palm House Orphanage who give
refuge and a home and safety for children,
away from paedophilia, prostitution and
poverty. It also gives them a chance to
grow up with an education which they
would not normally have had, which gives
them a better chance in life.
Every euro that is raised goes to help run
the home, so we thank every generous
person who supported the charity and in
return had a great night of entertainment.
We want to thank the Beagles for their time
and talent, also all the selfless people who
helped on the night, some at short notice,
(they know who they are). We would also
like to thank the staff of the Hotel Playa
Grande who were so obliging when the
dividers of the Sala Azul had to be opened
up to accommodate the extra people that
turned up that we weren’t expecting!
What a wonderful problem to have!!
Thank you and God bless you all.
Learn to Sing Harmony in a Day!
Ever wanted to sing but not known where
to start?
Did you sing at school and have now lost
confidence?
Do you want a change from Karaoke but are
not sure how to go about it?
Help is at hand, because The Spanish
Association of Barbershop Singers (SABS)
is offering a Learn to Sing Harmony in a
Day course on Saturday, 19 January 2013
at Mariano’s Restaurant, Camposol Sector A.
You will benefit from the invaluable
experience of Musical Director and SABS
President, Gail Grainger, backed up by
members of two local a cappella harmony
quartets: Viva and Chardonnay.
You will learn various techniques during the
day which will help you to improve your
singing.
lower voices are particularly welcome as, in
our experience, they have often been told
in the past that they can’t sing, which is
usually far from the truth. Throughout the
day we will learn a new song together and in
the evening we will perform live in front of
friends and family. This method of learning
has proved to be very popular in the UK and
we are expecting an enthusiastic response.”
There are only 50 places available, so make
sure that you contact SABS soon to secure
your place.
