Invitation to the 4 th European IRPA Congress 2014
In 2008 the European IRPA associate Societies have agreed that the German-
Swiss Radiation Protection Association (Fachverband für Strahlenschutz, FS, the
IRPA Associate Society for Germany and Switzerland) to host the 4 th European
IRPA Congress in 2014. In close cooperation with the Association Romande de
Radioprotection (ARRAD), our French speaking colleagues in Switzerland-Geneva
was chosen as host city for this major event. The choice of the venue was driven by
the intention to involve in the scientific program international organizations located
in Geneva with a strong link to radio protection (such as ILO, WHO, ISO). This
choice suits well the general theme of the Congress:
«Radiation protection culture – a global challenge”
The Fachverband is pleased to invite you to attend this congress with highly
interesting topics, to scientific visits, e.g. to CERN, and to a variety of memorable
social events and impressive excursions.

- to develop tools for
improving communication
between experts,
professionals, patients, and
members of the public.
