SP2 Call for Proposals
GENERAL INFORMATION
SENSATION’s Sub-Project 2 (SP2), the Sensor Development subproject of the FP6 SENSATION IP, is issuing a
competitive Call for Proposals for New Partners to provide support in a number of sensor development related tasks.
These tasks require partners with a strong background in
-Technologies relevant to the development of wearable EEG and other sensors, with a focus on integration
on flexible substrates, use of coatings, etc.
-Experience in the areas of bio-compability, bio-stability and bio-fouling sensor testing and validation
- Methods and technology relevant to application of wearable sensors to improve sleep and vigilance in
combination with smart feedback control
-Technologies of relevance to the wearable non-invasive blood pressure measurement
-Technologies of relevance to the problem of Body Area networking (BAN)
-Technologies of relevance to wearable micropower technologies
Important datums:
‣ The EC funding requested for all the above activities shall be up to 350 Keuro
‣ Proposals should be sent in to info@sensation-eu.org by 11 pm CEST April 14 th
‣ Proposals should include sections on Experience, a First Iteration, and a Work Proposal, as well as
a Financial Section along the lines of a EU project.
‣ Proposals may address part of the tasks mentioned below.
WORK STATEMENT
The Contractor is to provide support for one or more tasks
TASK 1
‣ The Contractor is to provide ideas and a focus on the Flexible Integration of EEG sensors to
provide key technologies for the integration on flexible substrates, including the use of CNT wafer
compatible coatings, thinning of wafer/dies, transfer to laminates or flexible carriers, potential
removal of temporary protections, etc.
‣ The Contractor is to provide experience to support the analysis and management of issues related
to new sensor bio-compatibility, bio-stability and bio-fouling.
TASK 2
‣ The Contractor shall design and prototype an innovative wearable, non-invasive Blood Pressure
sensor.
TASK 3
‣ The Contractor shall provide experience in the Body Area Network R&D area and give support to
SENSATION’s BAN activities, which seek to provide a wireless wearable communication
solution for the project body sensors.
TASK 4
‣ The Contractor shall provide support/collaboration in the area of Micro-power generation with
emphasis on
• Energy scavenging or other technologies,
• Flexible substrates
