The light comes on if engine oil pressure is
too low.
The following message appears in DIC at
the same time:
If the indicator light flashes or illuminates
while driving, stop immediately somewhere
that does not impede traffic, switch off the
engine and check the oil level. See
page 180.
NOTICE
Oil pressure warning light
(engine oil)
Oil pressure low.
Make a safe stop.
Never drive the car when the oil pressure
warning lamp is on. Low oil pressure can
cause serious engine damage.
Engine malfunction
(CHECK ENGINE)
WARNING
The CHECK ENGINE light indicates that
there is an engine-related problem.
Even if the car can be driven while the
CHECK ENGINE light is illuminated,
have it checked as soon as possible.
We recommend that you contact an
authorised Cadillac workshop.
If the fault is not rectified, more serious
faults may arise affecting driveability.
If driveability is affected the driver must
be prepared to act (e.g. brake smoothly,
engage neutral, stop in a suitable place,
switch off the engine, etc.).
The light illuminates to indicate a fault in the
fuel or ignition system.
The following message appears in DIC at
the same time:
Reduced engine power.
Contact service.
The car can be driven with care, but engine
performance will be limited. See page 129.
NOTICE
The car should be checked immediately
to avoid serious faults. We recommend
that you contact an authorised Cadillac
workshop.
Main beam indicator light
This light shows when the headlights are on
main beam, see page 78.
