AKENG44_Escalade Page 29 Wednesday, July 16, 2008 12:22 PM Section 1 If you have a problem with the oil, this light may stay on after you start the engine, or come on while you are driving. This indicates that oil is not going through the engine quickly enough to keep it lubricated. The engine could be low on oil, or could have some other oil problem. Have it fixed right away. CAUTION Do not keep driving with low oil pressure. Your engine could overheat and may catch on fire. You or others could be burned. Check the oil as soon as possible and have your vehicle serviced. NOTICE Engine damage due to neglected oil problems can be costly to repair and is not covered by your warranty. See "Engine Oil" in Section 4 for more information. Charging System Light This light should come on when the ignition is on but the engine is not running, as a check to show you it is working properly. If it doesn't come on, then have it fixed so it will be ready to warn you if there is a problem. If it stays on or comes on while you are driving, there may be a problem with this system. – 29 . . .
