Starting and Operating Instructions
SHIFT LOCK CONTROL SYSTEM
Your vehicle has an automatic
transmission shift lock control
system. With the engine running,
you have to fully apply the regular
brakes before you can shift out of
P (Park).
See "Vehicle Parking" later in this
section for more information.
■ ALL-WHEEL DRIVE
All-wheel drive transmits engine
power to all four wheels. This is like
four-wheel drive, but there is no
separate lever or switch to engage
or disengage the front axle. It is
fully automatic, and adjusts itself
as needed for road conditions.

VEHICLES
Specific design characteristics give
all-wheel drive vehicles a higher
center of gravity than ordinary
cars. An advantage of the higher
ground clearance is a better view
of the road allowing you to
anticipate problems. They are not
designed for cornering at the
same speeds as conventional
two-wheel-drive vehicles. If at all
possible, avoid sharp turns or
abrupt maneuvers. As with other
vehicles of this type, failure to
operate this vehicle correctly may
result in loss of control or vehicle
rollover.
