Never turn the cap when the engine and cooling system are hot. Changing a Flat Tire CAUTION Changing a tire can cause injury. The vehicle can slip off the jack and injure you or other people. Getting under a vehicle when it is jacked up is dangerous. If the vehicle slips off the jack, you could be badly injured or killed. Never get under a vehicle when it is supported only by a jack. CAUTION (Continued) Rust or dirt on the wheel, or on the parts to which it is fastened, can make the wheel nuts become loose after a time. The wheel could come off and cause an accident. When you change a wheel, remove any rust or dirt from the places where the wheel attaches to the vehicle. In an emergency, you could use a cloth or a paper towel to do this; but be sure to use a scraper or wire brush later, if necessary, to get all the rust or dirt off. . . . 18

Have the brakes checked immediately if the brake warning light stays on. Do not keep driving with low oil pressure. Your engine could overheat and may catch on fire. You or others could be burned. Check the oil as soon as possible and have your vehicle serviced. CAUTION If any warning light on the instrument panel illuminates while you are driving, immediately park your vehicle in a safe place, and follow the instructions in this manual. If the engine stalls while you are driving, the power-assisted brake and steering systems will not work properly, and braking and steering will require substantial effort. Try to pull over to a safe place before your vehicle stops. NOTICE Additional electronic equipment, such as a CB radio, cellular phone, navigation package or two-way radio, may interfere with the operation of your vehicle’s engine, radio or other electronic systems and even damage them.
