To set the date for the ‘floating’ annual leave day over the<br />

Christmas period<br />

Summary:<br />

Agreement is sought on the fixing of the leave date over the Christmas period<br />

in line with the Single Status Agreement 2004.<br />

Recommendation:<br />

To agree that Friday 30th December 2011 is fixed as the ‘floating’ leave<br />

date under the Single Status Agreement.<br />

Reasons for recommendation<br />

In line with the Single Status Agreement, the Authority has some flexibility in<br />

fixing one of the annual leave dates over the Christmas period. The<br />

Executive are asked to confirm the preferred date identified by staff as a result<br />

of a ballot.<br />

1. Introduction and background<br />

1.1 In 2004 the Authority implemented the Single Status Agreement which<br />

harmonised the key terms and conditions of employment for all staff.<br />

As part of this Agreement, the two extra statutory holidays (Tuesday<br />

after Spring Bank and Summer bank holidays) were removed and<br />

replaced by:<br />
