ANNUAL REPORT<br />
1.0 BACKGROUND<br />
Wigan Leisure & Culture Trust (WLCT) works in partnership with <strong>Selby</strong> <strong>District</strong> <strong>Council</strong><br />
to deliver leisure services. The partnership seeks to further develop high class sports<br />
and leisure facilities for the whole community.<br />
WLCT’s performance is reviewed on a quarterly basis against these indicators, this<br />
report aims to summarise performance for the 2010/11 year.<br />
2.0 SUMMARY OF PROGRESS AGAINST KEY PRIORITIES AND ACTIONS 2010/11<br />
Progress in delivering against WLCT’s key priorities for 2010/11 are summarised below.<br />
PRIORITY/ACTION<br />
Refurbishment of Abbey Leisure Centre.<br />
PROGRESS<br />
A £1.1 million capital investment in the<br />
centre has produced a high quality fitness<br />
suite, bar and function suite along with a<br />
modern catering outlet.<br />
The project created a 60 station health and<br />
fitness suite alongside new changing rooms<br />
incorporating a steam and sauna suite in<br />
the first floor with a new café and function<br />
suite on the ground floor.<br />
Implementation of a new leisure<br />
management system.<br />
Works commenced in January 2010 and<br />
the centre fully re-opened following<br />
completion of these refurbishment works on<br />
19th July.<br />
WLCT have introduced a number of new<br />
enterprise level systems along with an<br />
extensive high level BPR review exercise<br />
as part of the implementation process.<br />
These include:-<br />
XN Leisure – Leisure Membership<br />
Management System<br />
XN Leisure - Kiosk Fast access self-service<br />
for pre-paid activities, sessions and<br />
bookings.<br />
XN Leisure - Doorwatch - Turnstile system,<br />
