Title: Treasury Management – Monitoring Report to 30 th September 2011<br />

Summary:<br />

This report reviews the <strong>Council</strong>’s borrowing and investment activity<br />

(Treasury Management) for the first six months of 2011/12 and presents<br />

performance against the Prudential Indicators.<br />

Investments – interest rates have continued at their low level and<br />

forecasts for a rise have been put back to late 2011or even 2012. The<br />

<strong>Council</strong> has a budget of £247k and we are forecasting an outturn of<br />

£260k.<br />

Borrowing – the <strong>Council</strong> has long term borrowing of £10.109m at 30<br />

September 2011.<br />

Prudential Indicators – the <strong>Council</strong>’s affordable limits for borrowing were<br />

not breached during this period.<br />

Recommendations:<br />

i. <strong>Council</strong>lors endorse the actions of officers on the <strong>Council</strong>’s<br />

treasury activities for the period ending 30 th September 2011 and<br />

approve the report<br />

Reasons for recommendation<br />

To comply with the Treasury Management Code of Practice, the<br />
