Type the appropriate 3-digit Zone Expander address or use the [] and [] keys. When the<br />

desired address appears on the screen, press [ENTER] to program the selected Zone<br />

Expander module. The maximum number of Zone Expanders that can be programmed is<br />

limited by your system’s memory and configured profile.<br />

Displaying Selected 16 Zone Expander Information<br />

It is possible to show the current 16 Zone Expander registration and information details<br />

(registration, online and version) from the 16 zone expander selection display.<br />

Type the appropriate 3-digit 16 Zone Expander address or use the [] and [] keys. When<br />

the desired address appears on the screen, press the [ARM] key to display information on the<br />

selected 16 Zone Expander. The screen will now display information about the 16 Zone<br />

Expander that was selected. Press any other key to return to the 16 Zone Expander selection<br />

window.<br />

To view the IP address of the module press the [] key from this view. If the module is<br />

connected over the RS-485 LAN “---.---.---.---“ will be displayed.<br />

To list all offline or online modules refer to the Module Network Functions on Page 265.<br />

Special functions are provided to update and update reset a module individually by using a<br />

shortcut key directly from the keypad selection screen.<br />

Function<br />

Pressing the [STAY] key will update the zone expander number that is<br />

currently displayed in the module selection window. This will program<br />

the module WITHOUT resetting the module.<br />

Pressing the [FORCE] key will update and init the zone expander<br />

number that is currently displayed in the module selection window. This<br />

will program the module and then restart the module.<br />

Zone Expander Polling Time<br />

The polling time defines how often the Zone Expander checks in with the Protégé System<br />

<strong>Controller</strong>. If a Zone Expander fails to check in, it triggers its associated communication<br />

failure trouble zone (ZXxxx:08) and the trouble zone for a general module communications<br />

failure.<br />
