Use the numerical keys to enter a valid time in a 24HR format and then press [ENTER] to<br />

program the time. If you do not program a time in the following section the user will expire at<br />

midnight on the date that is programmed. For more information about entering the date<br />

information refer to the section Date and Time Data Entry on Page 407.<br />

If you do not enter a valid time an error message will be shown, pressing the [STAY] key will<br />

allow you to clear your entry.<br />

User Family / Facility Number<br />

When a user requires control of card readers and access functions in the Protégé System they<br />

must be programmed with a facility code or family number and a card number. The first<br />

screen shown will be the family number of the access control card that will be given to the<br />

user, enter the family number of the card and then press [ENTER].<br />

The family number is not normally printed on the card or tag. This is typically provided on a<br />

reference document provided with the cards at the time they are purchased. If you are not<br />

sure of the facility code or card number you can present the card to any reader that is<br />

programmed in the system. The facility or family id number that is read will be displayed in<br />

the screen only if it is not already programmed or allocated to a user.<br />

The number 4294967295 is the maximum facility code and is a reserved number,<br />

setting this number will disable the card for this user.<br />

User Card Number<br />

When user requires control of card reader and access functions in the Protégé System they<br />

must be programmed with a card number. Type the family or facility code in the previous<br />

entry and the card number of the access control card that will be given to the user in the card<br />

number entry below then press [ENTER].<br />

The card number when blank or deleted is shown as the maximum card number of<br />

4294967295 and to default or clear the card number press the [DISARM] key.<br />

If you are not aware of the card number you can present the card to any reader that is<br />

programmed in the system. The card number that is read will be displayed in the location only<br />

if it is not already programmed or allocated to a user.<br />

The Protégé System also supports the loading of cards automatically. This will increment the<br />

user number and wait for the next valid presentation of a card that is not currently in the<br />

database and storing the details for that user in the current record.<br />

• To enable automatic loading of the card information press the [ARM] key and a<br />

brief message will be shown with the current automatic card loading status.<br />
