User Access Code or PIN Number<br />

The user code (PIN) can be from 1 to 8 digits in length. Entering a user code (PIN) that<br />

already exists in the system results in the system generating an error and alerting the owner<br />

of that code. To modify or enter a new pin number for the selected user follow the<br />

instructions in the section Entering PIN Numbers on Page 406 and press [ENTER].<br />

For users to modify their own code or the code of another user with the same access level,<br />

the appropriate code modification options must be turned refer to User Options on Page X.<br />

Access Level Assignment<br />

The access level determines what rights this user will have in the protégé system. For more<br />

information on the programming of the access level refer to the Access Level Programming<br />

section on Page 60. Each user can be assigned four different access levels, when a user<br />

requests a certain action the protégé system checks each of the access levels in order until it<br />

finds one that has rights to perform the requested action. Each access level can also be<br />

assigned an independent start and end time.<br />

Use the [1] and [3] keys to scroll the access level selection and press [ENTER] to select the<br />

access level displayed. For more information about the list control data entry refer to the<br />

section List Control Data Entry on Page 406.<br />

Access Level 1 Start Date<br />

Setting the access level start date will disable the access level for this user until 00:00 on this<br />

date. If a start time is also set the access level will be disabled until that time has past on<br />

this date.<br />

Use the numerical keys to enter a valid date and then press [ENTER] to program the date. If<br />

you do not program a time in the following section the access level will expire at midnight on<br />

the date that is programmed. For more information about entering the date information refer<br />

to the section Date and Time Data Entry on Page 407.<br />

If you do not enter a valid date an error message will be shown, pressing the [STAY] key will<br />

allow you to clear your entry or set the default value.<br />

Access Level 1 Start Time<br />

Setting the access level start time will disable the access level for the user until this time has<br />

past. If both the start time and date are set then the access level will remain disabled until<br />

the date and time has past. If only the time is set then the access level will be disabled until<br />

this time has past and will then remain enabled until either the access level end time expires<br />

or until the midnight of that day.<br />
