REPORTING CODES
Introduction
Custom reporting codes are assigned to zone types to override the default reporting code
used for a specific alarm event. The following lists details the reporting code used for each
zone and trouble zone.
In some cases a reporting code may also be transmitted as the actual numerical value that is
programmed (ModBUS Remote) in which case the physical mapping will be done in the
receiving system application.
ModBUS Remote allows the monitoring of large SCADA based systems using the Protégé
System without the need to modify a new front end. For information on the ModBUS Slave
and ModBUS Remote protocols refer to the PRT-CTRL Modbus Reference Manual that explains
in detail the operation of the ModBUS functions.
Area Reporting Codes
Area reporting codes are used to report the opening and closing of an area (arming and
disarming) to the central station receiver or monitoring station. These codes are predefined
by the protocol that is being used.
Contact ID Area Reporting Codes
Description
Area Arming/Disarming. This is sent with a user ID of
000 and is not normally used.
Area Arming/Disarming By User. This is sent with the
user ID that disarmed/armed the area. This is the
standard used for normal area arming.
Area Group Arming/Disarming By User. When a group
of areas are controlled by a user the group code will
be used for each area in the group.
Automatic Area Arming/Disarming. When the system
arms/disarms an area in response to an event or
action the automatic code will be used and the User ID
of 999 will be sent to show it is a system user.
Cancel Area Arming/Disarming. The cancel arming is
used when a deferred area is stopped from completing
the arming cycle, previously code 405 was used which
is now obsolete.
Early Arming/Disarming. Used to send an early open
or close message when the area is armed before it is
due or disarmed before it is due.
Late Arming/Disarming. Used in the opposite to the
Early the message is sent when it is not closed before
the due time and not opened before the due time.
Remote Arming/Disarming. Used to report area control
functions that are actioned remotely to the Protégé
System Controller (Protégé SMGT, Automation Control
or C-Bus are examples).
