Every time you press the Enter key, the next screen appears. The different screens are
described in the following sub-sections. Programming the daylight saving settings in the
Protégé System allows the system to accurately compensate for daylight savings adjustments
for the time zone the system controller is located in.
For example in the United States, Canada and most regions Daylight Saving Time begins for
most of the United States at 2 a.m. on the first Sunday of April. Time reverts to standard time
at 2 a.m. on the last Sunday of October.
Daylight Saving Time, for the U.S. and its territories, is NOT observed in Hawaii, American
Samoa, Guam, Puerto Rico, the Virgin Islands, the Eastern Time Zone portion of the State of
Indiana, and the state of Arizona (not the Navajo Indian Reservation, which does observe).
Navajo Nation participates in the Daylight Saving Time policy, due to its large size and
location in three states
Another variation on the above is the New Zealand Standard Time which is currently defined
in the New Zealand Time Act 1974 as meaning the 12 hours in advance of Co-ordinated
Universal Time. The Department of Internal Affairs administers the Act and Daylight Saving
Time is defined as commencing on the first Sunday in October each year, when 2.00am
becomes 3.00am. It ends on the third Sunday in March of the following year, when 3.00am
becomes 2.00am
