The ability to limit the area's that a user has access to and which area's are displayed is<br />

programmable refer to the access level programming section.<br />

*Area 001<br />

is DISARMED<br />

The area status display can be accessed in three ways depending on the programmed options<br />

for the user who logged in to the system and the configured options set for the keypad the<br />

user used to login.<br />

• If Direct Menu Mode is turned on the user is taken directly to the Arm/Disarm<br />

menu item (first item available in the main menu) at which point they can select<br />

[MENU, 1].<br />

Shortcut Keys: [123456, ENTER, MENU, 1]<br />

Change Area Display: [] and []<br />

• If menu mode is tuned off the user will be taken directly to the area status display<br />

once they have logged in, this is a shortcut access and is recommended for most<br />

users. This is the default operation of the users with the exclusion of the installer.<br />

Shortcut Keys: [123456, ENTER]<br />

Change Area Display: [] and []<br />

• If the user is already logged in to the system the area status display can be access<br />

by selecting [MENU, 1].<br />

The area control functions allow the user to perform the following actions on the selected<br />

area.<br />

Area Security<br />

• Disarming (Page 33)<br />

• Regular Arming (Page 31)<br />

• Force Arming (Page 31)<br />

• Stay Arming (Page 32)<br />

• 24HR Arming (Page 33)<br />

• 24HR Disarming (Page 34)<br />

• Area Group Arming (Page 35)<br />

• Area Group Disarming (Page 36)<br />

The area status display does not show all areas to all users. The area security control with the<br />

Protégé allows various groups of area's to be displayed to a user depending on the access<br />

that the user has and the area's that are allowed to be controlled by the keypad they have<br />

logged in to.<br />

• The keypad that the user has logged in to will display the primary area that is<br />

assigned to that keypad if the user who logged in has access to the primary area.<br />

• If the area is disarmed, it will be displayed if the area belongs to the keypad group<br />

and to either the user arm group or disarm group.<br />
