Keypad Group<br />

To access the keypad group programming login using a valid installer code and then select<br />

[MENU, 4, 6, 2]. The screen displays “keypad Group to modify” as shown in the following<br />

example.<br />

Every time you press the Enter key, the next screen appears. The different screens are<br />

described in the following sub-sections. Programming the area groups in the Protégé System<br />

allow you to configure how a user will interact with the areas in the system and what areas<br />

they are able to access.<br />

Selecting a Keypad Group to Modify<br />

Each keypad group is assigned a unique keypad group number from 001 to 250.<br />

Type the appropriate 3-digit keypad group number or use the [] and [] keys to scroll the<br />

available keypad groups. When the desired keypad group number appears on the screen,<br />

press [ENTER] to program the selected keypad group. The maximum number of keypad<br />

groups that can be programmed is limited by your system’s memory and configured profile.<br />

If the selected area group has a name associated (some area groups do not have a name<br />

associated with them) the name programming screen will be shown.<br />

To scroll keypad groups by name use the [] and [] keys. To modify or enter a new name<br />

for the selected keypad group use the keypad as explained in section Entering Text and<br />

Names on Page 406 and press [ENTER].<br />

By default the keypad group name will be prefixed by an '*' this indicates that the name is an<br />

editable name in the system.<br />

Operating Schedule<br />

The operating schedule for the keypad group determines when the keypad group is valid and<br />

if it will use a secondary keypad group if the schedule is not valid. A schedule is a series of<br />

times and days that can be programmed to prevent the operating of functions based on a 7<br />

day week and 24 hour clock. For more information on the programming of the schedule refer<br />

to the Schedule Programming section on Page XX.<br />
