For Flight No. 12, we plan to simulate LEM abort maneuvers; ei<strong>the</strong>r<br />

abort from an equiperiod transfer orbit as shown <strong>in</strong> Enclosure 7 or abort from a<br />

Hohmann transfer orbit as shown <strong>in</strong> Enclosure 9[not <strong>in</strong>cluded].<br />

In conclusion, we believe that Gem<strong>in</strong>i missions as presently planned will<br />

make a very significant contribution to Project Apollo. However, <strong>in</strong> order to <strong>in</strong>sure<br />

<strong>the</strong> most effective Gem<strong>in</strong>i Program, we would appreciate your comments on our<br />

mission plans as outl<strong>in</strong>es here<strong>in</strong> especially with regard to <strong>the</strong> Apollo support areas<br />

<strong>The</strong> follow<strong>in</strong>g is a quick list of missions (or important experiments), which<br />

would be accomplished with a follow-on Gem<strong>in</strong>i program. Certa<strong>in</strong> items may<br />

require up-rated GLV launch capability or up-rat<strong>in</strong>g of spacecraft performance.<br />

Also enclosed is an equally quick vehicle layout of some of <strong>the</strong>se<br />

suggestions. Improved quality will follow.<br />
