PART I – PROJECT SUMMARY<br />

This project development plan presents a program of manned space<br />

flight dur<strong>in</strong>g <strong>the</strong> 1963 – 1965 time period. <strong>The</strong> program provides a versatile system<br />

which may be used for extend<strong>in</strong>g <strong>the</strong> time of flight <strong>in</strong> space and for development<br />

of rendezvous techniques, but may be adapted to <strong>the</strong> requirements of a multitude<br />

of o<strong>the</strong>r space missions at a later date. A two man version of <strong>the</strong> Mercury spacecraft<br />

would be used <strong>in</strong> conjunction with a modified Titan II booster. <strong>The</strong> Atlas-Agena B<br />

comb<strong>in</strong>ation would be used to place <strong>the</strong> Agena B <strong>in</strong>to orbit as <strong>the</strong> target vehicle <strong>in</strong>
