b. Saturn V 503 will be prepared to carry CSM 103 and LTA B on a<br />

manned CSM only mission to be designated <strong>the</strong> C prime mission.<br />

c. <strong>The</strong> objectives and profile of <strong>the</strong> C prime mission will be developed<br />

to provide <strong>the</strong> maximum ga<strong>in</strong> consistent with stand<strong>in</strong>g flight safety<br />

requirements <strong>in</strong> matur<strong>in</strong>g of <strong>the</strong> Apollo-Saturn V space system<br />

<strong>in</strong> earth orbital operation. Studies will be carried out and plans<br />

prepared so as to provide reasonable flexibility <strong>in</strong> establish<strong>in</strong>g f<strong>in</strong>al<br />

mission objectives after <strong>the</strong> flight of AS 205.<br />

[2] d. All plann<strong>in</strong>g and preparations for <strong>the</strong> C prime mission will<br />

proceed toward a launch read<strong>in</strong>ess date of 6 December 1968.<br />

2. Apollo-Saturn 504<br />

a. Saturn V 504, CSM 104, and LM-3 are reassigned to <strong>the</strong> D Mission.<br />

b. <strong>The</strong> D Mission will be scheduled for launch read<strong>in</strong>ess no earlier<br />

than 20 February 1969 with all mission and hardware preparations<br />

proceed<strong>in</strong>g toward that goal.<br />

3. Crew Assignment<br />

a. <strong>The</strong> crews now assigned to <strong>the</strong> D Mission rema<strong>in</strong> assigned to <strong>the</strong> D<br />

Mission. <strong>The</strong> crews currently assigned to <strong>the</strong> E Mission are reassigned<br />

to <strong>the</strong> newly def<strong>in</strong>ed C prime mission.<br />

4. Crew Tra<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g and Equipp<strong>in</strong>g and Operational Preparations<br />

b. Tra<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g and equipp<strong>in</strong>g of <strong>the</strong> D Mission crews and operational<br />

preparations will proceed as previously planned but to meet <strong>the</strong><br />

newly established flight read<strong>in</strong>ess date.<br />

c. Tra<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g and equipp<strong>in</strong>g of <strong>the</strong> C prime crews and operational<br />

preparations will proceed as required to meet mission requirements<br />

and to meet <strong>the</strong> newly established flight read<strong>in</strong>ess date.<br />
