LOS ANGELES (CN~) - l federal judge today ruled that the jury in the<br />

civil rights violat1·1 trial of four men accused in connection with the<br />

Rodney King beating should be sequestered.<br />

U.S. District Judge John Davies also said the jurors' names and<br />

addresses should be kept secret from the public. <strong>The</strong> names and other<br />

in'fcq··-mation will be. given to lawyet~s.<br />

''<strong>The</strong> confidentiality and protection of the jury in this case is<br />

paramount,'' Davies said during a hearing on pretrial motions.<br />

He said the federal government has little money to pay for the<br />

sequestering o'f jurors, but that the 'funds would have to be 'found<br />

somewhere, by s,omebody.<br />

Davies said he will rule at another time on whether defense attorney<br />

Michael Stone has a con'flict of interest in representing de-Fendant Laurence<br />

Po11-Je 11.<br />
