slightly back from the crowd.
"I wonder why you don't see

Thompson, a student at Fullerton
College. "Maybe they're
'afraid to come down." .
A few police stood on the perimeters
of the crowd, while others
gathered just inside the
h~~dquarters, grimly watching
through the locked glass doors.
