Of the 1,409 distinct applied-for TLD strings, 1,367 appeared at least once in the 2013 DITL
data with the string at the TLD position. Another 28 strings did not appear in the TLD position
but did appear in some other position.
4.1.1 Occurrence of applied-for strings
The 35 strings in the list of proposed TLDs 19 that appear most frequently in the TLD position in
the 2012 data set are shown in Table 1. 20
