Fast Facts<br />

• Sila-e is one of the 46 barangays of Malaybalay City. It can be<br />

reached by a four-wheel drive but preferably by a motorcycle<br />

locally known as “habal-habal” for two hours or so.<br />

• It is predominantly inhabited by the natives of Bukidnon called<br />

Higa-onon and Bukidnon.<br />

• Most people are elementary graduates or have not been into<br />

formal education at all.<br />

Sila-e Alternative Learning Center (SALC)<br />

• Its main objectives are: first, to provide a venue for all natives,<br />

young and old who wish to learn the basics of counting, reading<br />

and speaking; and second, to extend assistance services on how<br />

they could promote and preserve their cultural heritage including<br />

their customs and traditions.
