9.0 Interface requirements<br />

9.1 General description<br />

This section describes in essentially general terms the interface requirements supported by the <strong>Barracuda</strong><br />

<strong>18LP</strong>. No attempt is made to describe all of the minute details of conditions and constraints that must be considered<br />

by designers when designing a system in which this family of drives can properly operate. <strong>Seagate</strong><br />

declares that the drives operate in accordance with the appropriate ANSI Standards referenced in various<br />

places herein, with exceptions as noted herein or in the <strong>Seagate</strong> SCSI Interface Product Manual, part number<br />

77738479.<br />

9.2 SCSI interface messages supported<br />

Table 5 lists the messages supported by the SCSI-2 and SCSI-3 modes of the <strong>Barracuda</strong> <strong>18LP</strong> family drives.<br />
