Adoptathon <strong>2006</strong> – A Huge Success for Animals!<br />

The <strong>San</strong> <strong>Diego</strong> <strong>Humane</strong> <strong>Society</strong> <strong>and</strong> <strong>SPCA</strong><br />
extended its hours <strong>and</strong> held a number of<br />
festivities during the Adoptathon <strong>2006</strong><br />
weekend, June 9, 10, <strong>and</strong> 11. In the end, 82<br />
animals – including cats <strong>and</strong> kittens, dogs <strong>and</strong><br />
puppies, <strong>and</strong> a rabbit – went to new, loving homes!<br />
Our neighbors on the <strong>San</strong> <strong>Diego</strong> Campus for<br />
Animal Care, the County of <strong>San</strong> <strong>Diego</strong> Department<br />
of Animal Services, sent over 20 animals home over<br />
Adoptathon weekend, for a gr<strong>and</strong> total of over 100<br />
adoptions for the entire campus!<br />
This annual event, aimed at finding homes<br />
for hundreds of wonderful adoptable animals, is<br />
part of the <strong>Humane</strong> <strong>Society</strong>’s effort to bring people<br />
<strong>and</strong> pets together <strong>and</strong> raise awareness about the<br />
importance of adopting pets from animal welfare<br />
organizations.<br />
The <strong>San</strong> <strong>Diego</strong> <strong>Humane</strong> <strong>Society</strong> <strong>and</strong> <strong>SPCA</strong><br />
extends a special thank you to all of our generous<br />
sponsors who provided refreshments <strong>and</strong> a festive<br />
atmosphere throughout the weekend, including<br />
Einstein Bros. Bagels <strong>and</strong> Ben & Jerry’s Ice Cream.<br />
Thank you also to all the dedicated <strong>Humane</strong><br />
<strong>Society</strong> staff <strong>and</strong> v<strong>ol</strong>unteers who made this event<br />
possible for the animals!<br />
