Ninth Annual Telethon Raises<br />
More Than $245,000<br />
Big Weekend for <strong>San</strong> <strong>Diego</strong> <strong>Humane</strong> <strong>Society</strong> – Over 40 Animals Adopted!<br />
The <strong>San</strong> <strong>Diego</strong> <strong>Humane</strong> <strong>Society</strong> <strong>and</strong> SPCA raised<br />
more than $245,000 to support homeless animals<br />
<strong>and</strong> vital community programs March 4 with its<br />
9 th annual Telethon sponsored by PETCO, the PETCO<br />
Foundation <strong>and</strong> Ralphs.<br />
The five-hour live telethon, which was broadcasted<br />
from the <strong>San</strong> <strong>Diego</strong> <strong>Humane</strong> <strong>Society</strong> <strong>and</strong> SPCA <strong>and</strong><br />
aired on FOX Channel 6 (XETV), helped the <strong>Humane</strong><br />
<strong>Society</strong> place more than 80 animals into loving, new<br />
homes throughout the week.<br />

KOGO News Radio 600 AM’s Dave Mason hosted the<br />
educational, enlightening <strong>and</strong> heartwarming Telethon.<br />
The broadcast featured adoptable animals, “behind<br />
the scenes” tours of the campus, advice from <strong>Humane</strong><br />
<strong>Society</strong> experts <strong>and</strong> more. <strong>San</strong> <strong>Diego</strong> <strong>Humane</strong> <strong>Society</strong><br />
v<strong>ol</strong>unteers, sponsors <strong>and</strong> donors answered phones <strong>and</strong><br />
took pledges throughout the entire broadcast bringing<br />
in funds that will provide essential services to the<br />
animals <strong>and</strong> people of <strong>San</strong> <strong>Diego</strong>. In addition, visitors<br />
were invited to attend a fun <strong>and</strong> informative “pet<br />
information fair” in the central campus courtyard. The<br />
fair included an “Ask a Trainer” booth, information<br />
booths from Project Wildlife <strong>and</strong> the Animal Rescue<br />
Reserve, free Ben & Jerry’s Ice Cream <strong>and</strong> more!<br />
The <strong>Humane</strong> <strong>Society</strong> would like to thank all of the<br />
dedicated v<strong>ol</strong>unteers, generous sponsors <strong>and</strong> donors for<br />
all their support <strong>and</strong> for making this Telethon one of the<br />
