Stewart Stevenson: To date, Forestry Commission Scotland has entered into lease rental<br />

agreements for wind power with EoN Climate and Renewables UK, National Engineering Laboratory,<br />

RWE Npower Renewables, Scottish Power Renewables and Scottish and Southern Renewables.<br />

Additionally, lease rental agreements for hydro power have been arranged with Conaglen Estate,<br />

Dulas Hydro Generation, Inverleiver Hydro, Infinis, Triodos Renewables, Wyvis Plant & Power, RWE<br />

Npower Renewables, Mr Peter Brown, Mr Tony Dalton and Mr Roy Foster.<br />

Forestry Commission Scotland has not entered into any Joint Venture arrangements as yet. However,<br />

Forestry Commission Scotland will have the option of entering into joint ventures with Partnership for<br />

Renewables, Scottish Power Renewables, PNE Wind UK, E.ON Climate & Renewables and Fred<br />

Olsen Renewables (for wind power) and with Green Highland Renewables and a consortium of<br />

Broadland Properties and Gilbert Gilkes & Gordon (for hydro power).<br />

In addition, Forestry Commission Scotland has a number of agreements relating to access across<br />

the national forest estate that is required to service renewable developments on neighbouring land.<br />

Finance<br />

Alison McInnes (North East Scotland) (Scottish Liberal Democrats): To ask the Scottish<br />

Executive what employment opportunities are available to locally resident long-term unemployed<br />

people as a result of the Forth Replacement Crossing construction project.<br />

John Swinney: The Principal Contract for the Forth Replacement Crossing includes a requirement<br />

for the Contractor to provide an average of 46 positions for the long-term unemployed each year and<br />

for all positions to be advertised in local job centres.<br />

Similarly, for the M9 Junction 1a Contract an average of five positions each year must be provided.<br />

Governance and Communities<br />

Siobhan McMahon (Central Scotland) (Scottish Labour): To ask the Scottish Executive how<br />

much the First Minister’s private office has spent on hospitality for employees of News International<br />

Ltd in (a) 2008-09, (b) 2009-10 and (c) 2010-11.<br />

editor of the Scottish News of the World, Bob Bird, to discuss the campaign for Mark’s Law. The cost<br />

was £173.30. There was no expenditure in 2009-10 or 2010-11. The Scottish Government routinely<br />
